M League 2014 – Grand Finals have arrived!!!!

After some spectacular and thrilling netball action at SNHC last Wednesday night the 2014 M League Grand Finalists have all been determined.
In a highly skilled, physical match in Premier Mens, the Southern Seahawks fought their way back from a 6 goal deficit at three quarter time to defeat Western Ice 56-54. Western Ice were very slick in attack from the first whistle and produced some scintillating netball. Corey Jackson had an outstanding game at GS missing only a handful of goals for the match and his combination with Daniel Cooke was on fire for the majority of the match. Trailing for the first three quarters, Southern Seahawks threw caution to the wind in the last to try and create some much needed turnover ball. The move of Andrew Lewis from GA to GK and Asa Alefaio from GK to GD proved a master stroke. The experienced midcourt of Adam Boldiston, Andrew Simons and James Robertson got on top of their younger rivals and showed their composure in the pressure cooker of the last few minutes, delivering crucial ball to their goalers which was finished off at a perfect 15 from 15 as the Seahawks sealed the win by 2. Seahawks now face the bench mark this season in Bayside Braves tonight at the SNHC in what will be a very entertaining match. You can witness all the action from 8.30pm on Show Court 1! Be there……..!
In Division One Mens, Northern Bullets suffered an early injury to one of their key playmakers in Josh Elllis and were forced to play out the match with only 6 players.  They put up a gallant effort but were outclassed by Eastside Saints 52-36. Saints now take on the talented and very consistent Northern Titans in what should be another very entertaining match of cat and mouse.
Premier Mixed saw the reigning premiers Bayside Bears prove to classy for Southern Squirtles, winning 54-38. Can Windsor Wilderbeasts defeat Bayside Bears in the Grand Final or will the Bears win yet another title? Watch all the action unfold from 7pm on Court 1.
It could be a night of double celebration for Northern Titans with their mixed team also winning through to the Grand Final with a composed 51-35 victory over Melbourne Meerkats. Titans now face the very young and enthusiastic Yarra Valley Young Guns in what promises to be an exciting Grand Final for the Division One Mixed trophy.
