Tour Manager Announced!

A major piece of feedback from the recent Nationals survey was around communication. VMMNA has listened, and as such, created a new role: TOUR MANAGER

In this role, the Tour Manager, with the support of the VMMNA Committee and Tour Sub-Committee, will provide the required support and guidance to managers, coaches, players, parents/guardians and all support staff in the lead up to, and during the week of, Nationals. Specifically, the Tour Manager will be the point of call for all Tour related information, handling logistics, communication and administration relating to the Tour. They will also work within the parameters of the VMMNA Constitution and ensure the policies and procedures are adhered to.

As such, we are thrilled to announce Sonya Febbo as VMMNA’s inaugural Tour Manager.

Sonya has been a Team Manager at the last three Nationals (Men’s Reserves 2 in 2016/2017 and then 20&Under 2017-2019) and was also selected as Team Manager for the Australian 20&Under side for the last Trans Tasman Series. Previous to this she was President of Warrandyte Netball Club, Rep Coordinator at Doncaster & Districts Netball Association and a Committee member for the Chisholm Region state team.

Her no-nonsense, can-do attitude, coupled with with her great sense of humour has led to her popularity among Vic players and officials alike. An experienced netball administrator, Sonya possesses the exact skill set that this new role needs.

When told of her appointment Sonya said: “I am delighted to accept the role of VMMNA’s Tour Manager. In this role I want to ensure the months leading up to Nationals run as smoothly as possible and the key to this will be ensuring communication about the Tour is clear, concise and seamless.

I look forward to working with all teams and their managers over the coming months in the lead up to Nationals 2020, ensuring it is an incredibly successful and well organised campaign for the entire Victorian squad”.

Sonya can be contacted via: TourManager@VMMNA.org and we are so thankful to have her in this integral new role within the Victorian squad.
