PRESIDENT’S UPDATE: RE 2020 CHAMPIONSHIPS CANCELLATION

As you have now been made aware, unfortunately the 2020 Australian Championships are no longer going ahead.

We all know how much hard work we have put in to preparations for the championships and the strength of the Victorian programme has been incredible to see. COVID-19 has seen an unprecedented response from sporting bodies around the country from grassroots through to elite competitions. VMMNA supports AMMNA’s decision to cancel the Championships as the health and safety of our members and their families could not be guaranteed this Easter.

Mullum Mullum Stadium has also advised that they will be closed until further notice, so given that there are no doubt questions that people from within our Squad wish to ask, we will be holding a live video forum via Zoom at 10am this Sunday morning (March 22).

If you have any questions for this forum, please email the Tour Manager, Sonya Febbo at TourManager@VMMNA.org. You will also be able to ask questions in real-time during the forum. Details of how to access the forum will be sent to the Squad shortly as we want to give our members enough time to be able to set this up. This forum will only be open to our current Squad and an email with instructions will be sent out accordingly.

While we do not have all the answers at this point in time, we will do our best to clarify anything we can. Details are being worked through currently and that will occur across the coming months.

Thank you to everyone for both your understanding and your patience at this precarious time.

With regards,

Matthew Blomeley – President
Sonya Febbo – Tour Manager
