In 2018 the Community Fund was established to assist those participants who are experiencing hardship which may impact their ability to take part in the Australian Men’s & Mixed National Championships which are held each year in April.
As VMMNA currently receives no funding from any sporting or Government body these Championship tours are player-funded and the Community Fund aims to alleviate the financial burden of this for those participants going through hardship.
Any participant (player, coach, manager or umpire) can apply for a grant to offset costs associated with participation in the Championships. An independent sub-committee then assesses applications and makes recommendations on allocation of grants in line with needs of the individual and funds available.
Applicants (either for themselves or on behalf of someone you may know) are welcome to send their contact details only through to CommunityFund@VMMNA.org and a member of the sub-committee will be in touch to discuss this further.
This community fund is wholly supported through the generosity of patrons, both private and within the business community, along with additional fundraising by a group in our community who recognise the need to support accessibility and participation in our sport for all.
Patrons are recognised (at their discretion) below and via our social media channels.
Patronage also opens up opportunities for the VMMNA community to align with your own community involvement activities and objectives.
These can be discussed and tailored on an individual basis, but may include attending our events and presentations or getting involved with your teams or events.
